Crystal Peak is a prominent summit in the Santa Cruz Mountains of southwestern Santa Clara County, about ten miles west of Morgan Hill and near Loma Prieta. As the second highest peak in the range, it is one of the major high points in the mountains dividing the Santa Clara Valley from the Pacific side. The mountain is also important as a watershed source: the headwaters of Llagas Creek begin on its eastern flank, flow south, and eventually join the Pajaro River near the San Benito County line. Its name comes from a radio communications facility on the summit and honors early crystal radio development.
