A grist mill built in 1796 by Cox and Davidson stood at the corner of Mill and Pine Street as part of a historic industrial park, operated with five French Burrs, and was destroyed by fire in 1910. The recovered mill stone is the only true tangible artifact ever recovered from the site of the historic grist mill.
