Built in 1850 by David H. and Jerusha Dyches McFadin, who were born in Tennessee and came to Texas in 1828, this house has 27-inch native stone walls. David H. McFadin fought in the Battle of San Jacinto. By its cool, perpetual spring, Confederates camped on the way to the Civil War.
