Rolling Prairie School began with its first school in 1834 and had a school at its present location by 1876. Its first graduate came in 1884, its first brick school was built in 1894, and the school was rebuilt in 1896. It became a four year high school in 1907, added a gymnasium in 1936, won sectional basketball championships in 1941 and 1951, marked 1968 as the last year of Rolling Prairie High School, and in 2003 its elementary students were state math champions.
