Construction of the Nashville & Decatur Railroad and the partial burning of Old Lynnville (Waco) by Federal troops brought this charming town to its present location after the Civil War. The Lynnville National Register Historic District (1988) contains 59 buildings, with architectural examples from each period of the town's development from the 1860's through the early 1900's.
