Green River Lake State Park is a Kentucky park about four miles south of Campbellsville, built around Green River Lake, an 8,200-acre reservoir and the park’s central feature. The park itself covers 1,331 acres and emerged from a federal water project in the mid-20th century. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began building the dam in 1964, and the park opened in 1969. Today it serves as a center for lakeside recreation, with trails, a beach, picnic areas, playgrounds, campgrounds, a marina, miniature golf, and fishing for bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, walleye, and muskie.
