Faith
In 1856 the Rev. Joseph I. Loudermilk (1816-1880) came to Jackson County and organized Enon Baptist Church, the first church of that faith in the county. He served as pastor from that time until his death and was buried here. A five-acre site was given by John and Clarissa Andrews on Oct. 23, 1858, for the church and cemetery. The first interment, in 1862, was Isaac J. Sheppard. There are now 65 graves, and the cemetery is still open for burials. The site of the church is partially enclosed by the cemetery fence.
