Pickerel Lake United Sunday School was founded in 1957 by the Harry Burrish and Sturgis Dornbush families because they did not want Sunday to be just another day. Others who loved Pickerel Lake and were grateful to God for the beauty in their lives soon joined the outdoor gatherings. Over the years, children grew up and new little ones took their places, while some members and dear friends died. The place of reflection is dedicated to their memories, especially to the memory of Margaret Burrish, and honors Sandra Grover, Sturgis Dornbush, William Lamont, Gerry Hill, Harry Burrish, Margaret Burrish, Robert Gorder, Maryanna Peterson, Harold Webb, Dr. John Rodine, Essie Mae Hill, Jeanne G.
