Belgrade's World's Largest Crow stands about 42 feet tall, perched on a branch above the city off Highway 71. It is part of a landscaped monument area with a circular base, walkways, flagpoles, and a curved wall. The crow was built in the 1980s as part of a monument celebrating the town's centennial in 1988. Town leaders chose a crow as a mascot because of the local names Crow River, Crow Lake, and Crow Lake Township. By 1990, the monument was officially dedicated. In addition to the oversized bird, the site includes nearly 5,000 specialty bricks honoring local church leaders, veterans, mayors, school superintendents, Stearns County Road Department workers, and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
