Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938, this structure originally served as a home for the State Game Officer for the Ocala National Forest. It has also been used by the Forest Service as an office and laboratory. Its interior displays native products of the local area, with a living room paneled in redgum, the heart of sweetgum, and two bedrooms finished in sand pine and longleaf pine. Local mills in Ocala did the work. Recorded as a Florida Historic Site, it stands as a landmark still in use and as a representation of the Civilian Conservation Corps' place in Florida history.
