San Luis Camp Adobe, the oldest building in Merced County, was built in 1848 by Francisco Perez Pacheco and his son on Rancho San Luis Gonzaga. It later served as a stopping place for vaqueros driving cattle to the gold fields. It eventually became part of Rancho Santa Rita, was long owned by Henry Miller, and is now property of Wolfsen Land and Cattle Company.
