After the 1889 fire destroyed the Corner Drug Store while it was owned by F. W. Fincher, Fincher rebuilt the two-story and basement building with Pentwater brick in 1891. D. G. Weare had owned the store for many years before Fincher, and in 1893 J. L. Congdon bought the business and ran the drugstore with his wife Jen until 1935. It then became Mac's Pharmacy under Mr. McCarthy, was known as Jack Johnston Drug Store in 1947, became Lites Drug Store under Ken and Georgia Lites in 1949, changed to a general store owned by Susan and Jay Bryan in 1995 after dropping the pharmacy, and was bought by Jim Gwilliams's in 2002 and became a dollar discount store opening in 2003.
