Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret, Connecticut, is a more than 900-acre public recreation area built around the hemlock-lined gorge of Mashamoquet Brook. Its development began in 1918 with Sarah Fay’s donation of eleven and a half acres, and it expanded through later additions including the Wolf Den and the Hotchkins Wolf Den Farm parcel. The park is known for blending natural scenery with historic and geologic features, including the Wolf Den national historic site, the Brayton Grist Mill, Table Rock, and Indian Chair. Together these sites connect local legend, early industry, and the landscape while supporting camping, swimming, fishing, and picnicking.
