In 1920, the Washington Public School cornerstone marked an east side elementary school at 601 South Poplar that housed first- through sixth-grade students and was demolished in 2017. In 1929, the Clinic Building and Hospital lintel came from a high-tech hospital at 115 West 8th Street that offered electro-cardiography, fluoroscopy, obstetrical pelvimetry, and x-rays.
