Cherry Island Range Rear Light is a historic lighthouse in Wilmington, Delaware, on the Delaware River just north of the Christina River. It functions as the rear light of the Cherry Island Range, positioned 1,456 yards behind the front light to aid navigation. The current structure is a skeletal tower showing a red light. Among its documented keepers, John A. Patterson served from 1880 to 1910, followed in later years by Lawson Holland, Charles E. Marshall, Julian Bacon, and William H. Johnson. The light remains part of Delaware’s long-standing river navigation system and one of the state’s historic lighthouses.
