Nature
Little River Falls, in Alabama’s Little River Canyon National Preserve, marks the start of Little River Canyon, where the river drops into one of the state’s best-known canyon landscapes. Beyond its scenic importance, the falls are notable for an extreme flow event. On April 8, 2014, more than 11,000 cubic feet of water per second were recorded there, setting a new record and surpassing the previous high-water mark established in 1964.
