Fairview Cemetery and Arboretum in Westfield, New Jersey, is a one hundred five-acre non-sectarian, non-profit institution founded in 1868 and operated for the benefit of its property owners. It serves both as a cemetery and as an accredited arboretum, combining memorial purpose with a cultivated landscape recognized for its trees and plant collections, and it is a member of the American Public Gardens Association. Its notable burials include physician Virginia Apgar; entertainers Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, and Claydes Charles Smith; baseball player Joe Collins; congressman Charles N. Fowler; and William Miller Sperry, namesake of the William Miller Sperry Observatory.
