The house at 208 E. Orchard Ave. stands on lot No. 5 of the Wright subdivision, the last addition to Floraville Hill in the late 1800s. Built around 1882 in the imposing Second Empire style, often called the “high style” of the Victorian era, it was first owned and built by Mr. and Mrs. Elias Thompson. In the late 1800s and throughout the 20th century, its owners included prominent figures in Lebanon history, among them businessmen Bob Kaufman and John N. Oswald, Judge Milton Clark, Dr. Ed Blair, and banker J.M. Hayner. For over 50 years, beginning in 1968, it was the home of Joe and Winkie McKenzie.
