Braddock Point Light stands on Lake Ontario in New York, just west of Braddock Bay at Bogus Point. The red-brick lighthouse, built with an octagonal tower, was established and first lit in 1896. A notable feature was its lantern, reused from an 1870s lighthouse in Cleveland, Ohio, and brought to Braddock in 1895, along with a third-and-half-order Fresnel lens installed when the station began service. Structural damage led the Coast Guard to deactivate the light in 1954 and remove the upper two-thirds of the tower, but it was reactivated on February 28, 1999. Later, the property became a privately owned bed and breakfast and was offered for sale in November 2014.
