The Gardner Home at 713 Central was built shortly after the Sizer house by Solon Wright, owner of Wright Dry Goods, who sought to outdo Callumura and have the grandest home in Monett. After the house was completed, Wright fell on hard times and quickly sold it to Horace and Etta Gardner, a local lawyer and his wife who were very active in the community. The home has since been restored, and its current occupants are only the third set of people to live in the house.
