Neenah Light, also called the Kimberly Point Lighthouse, stands at the entrance from Lake Winnebago into the Lower Fox River in Kimberly Point Park, giving it both navigational importance and a prominent place on Neenah’s waterfront. The park came from land donated to the city in 1929 by Helen Kimberly Stuart, and in 1944 her brother J. C. Kimberly funded the lighthouse’s construction. Built by Flour Brothers Construction Company and first put into service in 1945, the brick and Haydite block tower was raised from 40 to 49 feet in 1954. It also reflects Neenah’s growth and the Kimberly family’s lasting influence on the city.
