DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun Historic District in Tucson, Arizona, was created as Ettore DeGrazia’s artistic and architectural environment on a 10-acre desert property arranged as a group of buildings rather than a formal complex. Beginning in 1951 with the open-air Mission in the Sun, the site grew over two decades to include adobe buildings such as the DeGrazia House, studios, and the main gallery museum built in 1965. Dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe and Padre Eusebio Kino, the mission became both a devotional and social center. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, the district endured a devastating 2017 fire, and the restored chapel reopened in 2019.
