In High Falls, New York, the Delaware and Hudson Canal Museum preserves the history and culture of the Delaware and Hudson Canal in the DePuy Tavern, a building dating to 1797 that later housed the D&H Canal Company offices from 1850 to 1898. Its collections include about 4,000 artifacts such as maps, photographs, documents, models, paintings, and prints, presenting both the canal’s story and the community that developed around it. Part of the High Falls Historic District, the site also includes the Five Locks Walk, which reaches locks 16 through 20 of the former canal, and serves as a regional visitor center.
