Fort Loudoun State Historic Park, near Vonore in the lower Tellico Lake area, was established in 1977 around a full-scale reconstruction of Fort Loudoun. Its central attraction is the rebuilt frontier military post behind the museum, where occasional reenactments bring the site’s earlier history to life. The park also includes a visitors center, museum, gift shop, and the nearby Tellico Blockhouse site maintained by park staff. Alongside its historical focus, it serves as a small lakeside recreation area with hiking trails, fishing access, birding, a picnic shelter, and a rental pavilion, combining heritage tourism with day-use outdoor activities.
