The Winters Public Library was founded on January 4, 1954 by Miss Myra Glover and dedicated on October 13, 1963. The citizens of Winters, Texas, dedicated the library to Miss Myra Glover because she had given so generously of herself for the benefit of all. The building was made possible through generous contributions from George W. Strake, John Q. McAdams, West Texas Utilities Company, and Mrs. James W. Bright, and the names of other contributors were inscribed in The Book of Remembrance.
