First Mennonite Meeting House in Virginia

The site of the first meeting house built by the Mennonites in Virginia lies approximately 150 yards north. According to local tradition, the first building, a log structure measuring 20 by 25 feet, was erected in 1822 and was given the name Trissels Mennonite Church. This congregation became the historical progenitor of the Mennonite Churches of the Virginia Conference.
