Gifford Hill is a small mountain chain in central New York, northeast of Oneonta, made up of three main peaks with a highest elevation of 1,928 feet. It was named for the Gifford family, who arrived in 1803 and settled along Oneonta Creek on land that came to be called Gifford Hill. The hill is also a local drainage divide, with water from its west slope flowing into Oneonta Creek and water from its east slope flowing into Gifford Creek.
