Built in 1927 on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, the Warner Bros. Water Tower began as fire-protection infrastructure, rising 133 feet and holding 100,000 gallons. After the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, it was relocated from beside the studio fire department because a collapse there could obstruct emergency response. Though it no longer stores water, the tower remains one of the studio’s most recognizable landmarks, bearing the WB shield and appearing in productions, company branding, and the identity of WaterTower Music. It is also closely associated with Animaniacs and now serves as a central visual symbol of Warner Bros. history in the modern Warner Bros. Pictures logo.
