Michigan is welcomed by America’s Guard of Honor, the Geo. T. Alex Detroit Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, in a dedication to the paratroopers and glidermen who have served and to the men and women who continue to serve as America’s best. The dedication was made by President James W. Etherton on June 6, 2004, and is represented with the Airborne Emblem, Army Airborne Glider Badge, 82nd Airborne Shoulder Patch, 101st Airborne Shoulder Patch, Paraglider Shoulder Patch, and the 11th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 173rd, 187th, 555th, and Special Forces.
