Seven Islands State Birding Park is a Tennessee state park on the French Broad River east of Knoxville, created specifically for birdwatching and habitat conservation. Protecting grassland and river habitat, it supports more than 180 bird species, including songbirds, waterfowl, and winter sparrows. Much of the land was once a Kelly family farm, and the farmhouse still stands. Preservationists later acquired and donated the property to Knox County Parks and Recreation, where it first became the Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge before being designated Tennessee’s 56th state park on July 1, 2014. The park also offers hiking trails, canoe and kayak launches, biking, and fishing.
