All veterans of the armed forces of the United States of America who faithfully served their country and were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery are honored here. In Abraham Lincoln’s words on March 4th, 1861, “The mystic cords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart...should swell into a mighty chorus of remembrance, gratitude, and rededication on this solemn occasion.”
