Roland Cooper State Park is a 236-acre public recreation area on the eastern shore of Dannelly Reservoir, about six miles north of Camden, Alabama. Built around access to the Alabama River impoundment known locally as Millers Ferry Reservoir, it has long served fishing, boating, camping, and cottage stays. The park opened in 1969 as Bridgeport State Park on land leased from the Army Corps of Engineers after construction of Miller's Ferry Lock and Dam. Renamed in the 1970s for state senator William Roland Cooper, it weathered service cuts and closure during 2015 budget reductions, reopened in 2016 under private management, and returned to direct state management in 2023.
