BOK Center, Tulsa’s main indoor arena, opened downtown in 2008 as the flagship project of the voter-approved Vision 2025 development plan. Built as a multi-purpose venue for concerts, sports, and major civic events, it became a leading regional destination while also helping drive broader downtown improvements. Named for the Bank of Oklahoma, the arena was designed by César Pelli to serve as an architectural icon, blending Native American, art deco, and contemporary influences in its sweeping glass and metal form. Its interior combines large-event facilities with commissioned public art, and it remains a central expression of Tulsa’s early-21st-century civic ambitions.
