Fredsminde Lutheran Church
Faith
Fredsminde Lutheran Church was built in 1889 by the Danish Lutherans of Brookville Township together with their Baptist and Seventh Day Adventist neighbors. As rural living patterns changed, the community's need for the church declined, and the parish was dissolved in 1960. Before transferring to other local parishes of the American Lutheran Synod, its members honored the country church they had long loved and served. Pioneer visiting pastor Neils Olson served from 1872 to 1882. Resident pastors were S. C. Madsen, 1882 to 1894; H. J. Dahlstrom, 1894 to 1895; Jens Borggaard, 1896 to 1900; J. K. Jensen, 1900 to 1901; N. P. Lang, 1901 to 1907; H. W. Bondo, 1907 to 1912; and H. M. Hansen, 1912 to 1920. Pastors shared with Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, were E. M. Nielsen, 1920 to 1925; H. S. Madsen, 1925 to 1931; Henry M. Hansen, 1931 to 1936; H. S. Madsen, 1936 to 1942; A. V. Neve, 1942 to 1956; and L. E. Andersen, 1956 to 1960.
