In 1853, Issac I. Stevens, Governor of the Washington Territory, described the Mission as being composed of buildings enclosing a square, some of them quite old, but with a large new barn. One-half of the barn was reserved for crops, while the other half was arranged for cattle. The Mission’s stock then consisted of twenty cows, eight pair of oxen, and ninety pigs.
