Narcissa Prentiss Whitman and Eliza Hart Spalding were missionaries, the first white women in Wyoming, and the first women to travel over the Oregon Trail. From July 6 to July 18, 1836, they were at Green River Rendezvous, where they took an active part in religious services held there.
