L&N Steam Engine 152, the official state locomotive of Kentucky, was built by Rogers Works of NJ in Oct. 1905 as a 4-6-2 Light Pacific. It was donated to the KY Railway Museum by the Louisville and Nashville RR in 1954, restored, and returned to service in 1985. The engine reportedly pulled trains carrying Presidents Roosevelt, Hoover, and Truman, as well as the prison train of gangster Al Capone. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it ran on the Louisville and Nashville RR, including the Lebanon Branch through New Haven, also ran between Mobile and New Orleans, and hauled coal during the 1920s coal boom in E. KY. It operates as one of the last surviving L&N steam engines in the world.
