Steam Locomotive No. 1819 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in November 1906 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at a cost of $23,239.51. With tender it weighed 322,775 pounds and had a tractive effort of 42,500 pounds. It was converted from compound to simple and Waiscaert valve gear in November 1927, received a Schmidt superheater in October 1930, and was converted from coal to oil with National draft gear supplied in September 1941. Its last service date was October 1953 after a total mileage of 916,626 miles. It worked the Middle Divisions of the Santa Fe Railroad in Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado, and served in freight, passenger, and switch service. In February 1956, the Santa Fe Railroad donated it to the City of Lamar.
