Long Bluff, named for its shape, is one of many bluffs in this area and is approximately 199 feet high. Mill Bluff, where this site stands, is 120 feet tall. Part of the visible open land is an abandoned cranberry marsh. Cranberry farming has been an important industry in the Warrens area north of Tomah, where marshy areas similar to those in the park and nearby areas supported the harvest of wild cranberries by early residents, who shipped many pounds of them by rail from Camp Douglas to markets in Milwaukee and Madison.
