One hundred feet south is the office of Dakota's oldest newspaper, founded as the Weekly Dakotian on June 6, 1861, then continuing as the Yankton Press on August 10, 1870, the Weekly Press & Dakotian on November 20, 1873, and the Daily Press & Dakotan on April 26, 1875.
