The TPS-43 was a Westinghouse transportable tactical air surveillance radar used for early detection of aircraft. Sold to more than 20 nations, it proved its high performance and reliability many times and set the stage for the next generation, the TPS-70 series. Its features included a shelter, folding compact antenna, waveguide, cable and cooling, transport by truck, helicopter, or aircraft, anti-jamming capabilities, a range of up to 270 miles, and more than 170 sets produced from 1967 to 1984.
