Antioch Cemetery contains an oldest recorded tombstone dated 1849, though land was not formally set aside as a cemetery until 1875. Thomas Jefferson Miller deeded the property soon after the death of his son, Theo. Miller, and both Thomas Jefferson Miller and his second wife, Patience, are buried there. Many members of the Holmes, Williamson, Donald, Poss, Capps, Hudson, and McDaniel families are also buried in the cemetery. For many years, the graveyard was associated with and maintained by the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
