First Christian Church was built in 1900 through contributions from members of the congregation. The Reverend Mr. James F. Stewart chaired the committee of church members who supervised construction of the church and raised the funds necessary to build it. Members gave tirelessly of their work and time. It is the only wood church from the Victorian era remaining in Santa Paula.
