Monte Mountain is a 7,746-foot summit in Nevada’s Mount Irish Range, rising above a remote landscape where low desert basins meet rugged ridges. Its historical significance is tied to the nearby ghost town of Tempiute, whose community once mined the mountain. Through that connection, the peak reflects the brief boom-and-bust mining era that shaped much of rural Nevada. Although it is now chiefly a geographic landmark, its name still preserves a link to the area’s abandoned mining past.
