Northfield Park Arboretum in Gering, Nebraska, is a public park and arboretum created in what was once a long, narrow canyon. It serves as a living exhibition of trees, shrubs, and other botanical life found in the Gering area. The site blends a traditional park setting, where plants needing extra care are cultivated, with a more natural area that features native species suited to local conditions. This combination makes it both a managed garden space and a place that reflects the region’s natural plant life. Its curator is Amy Seiler, who also serves as Parks Director for the City of Gering.
