Tempiute Mountain is a 7,746-foot summit in Nevada’s Mount Irish Range near the ghost town of Tempiute, a former mining community that once worked the mountain to its north. The mountain is also associated with a military aircraft accident on March 23, 1982, when a United States Air Force McDonnell-Douglas F-4E Phantom II from the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing crashed into it near Nellis Air Force Base, killing both crew members.
