Anthony Alexander Harrison, son of Lovell and Hannah Sanford Harrison, enlisted in Captain Lucas' company in February 1781. He also served in Captain Newsome's company and in the company commanded by his brother, Captain Joseph Harrison, in Colonel Dick's regiment under General Muhlenberg's command, which fought at the Battle of Petersburg, Virginia, on April 25, 1781. John Cornelison, born in 1760 in Virginia, son of Conrad Cornelison and Jemima Anney Todd, married Elizabeth Barlett in 1780 in Rowan County, North Carolina. They had nine children. John served in North Carolina in the companies of Captain John Armstrong, Captain Mathew Ramsey, Captain Smith, Captain Adolph Hedrick, Captain Francis Cole, Captain John Childs, and Captain Jennings. He fought in the Battle of Stono Ferry, South Carolina, on June 20, 1779. John and his family arrived in Madison County, Illinois, in 1827. He moved to Greene County, Illinois, where he died on April 25, 1843. John Rattan, born in North Carolina in 1747, son of William Wroten, married Mary Greene in October 1775. They had four boys and four girls. John served in the Continental Line in Captain Robert Porter's troops of Tyron County, North Carolina, from November 18 to December 30, 1777. He and his family arrived in Madison County in 1804. John Rattan, the first white man to settle in the Wood River area, died on October 11, 1821, in Madison County, Illinois.
