The First Christian Church of Kingsville was organized on Oct. 11, 1911, with many charter members drawn from the town’s new railroad workforce. When funds were lacking for construction, community donations made it possible to begin building in 1913. The present structure, however, comes from a separate 1955 project. Over the years, the church endured the great strike of 1922, the World Wars, and the Great Depression, and it devoted itself to public service through women’s groups, a language school, and food programs in keeping with its covenant to strengthen and heal the community while sharing God’s gifts.
