The memorial honors the men and women who served their country and the men of the Lansing Community who gave their lives so others could continue to live in freedom. It names Walter Andrasik, August Antoniazzi, Sam Bettem, Joseph Bugaj, Emile DeLeau Jr., Stanley Doleski, Dick Fortney, Walter Jablonski, Walter Yoblinski, Edward Martin, Dale Mathieu, John Melnick, Arthur Morgan, John Sincavich, Louis Tocket, Joseph Wojtczak, Andy Zeik, and Alexander J. Sabat, and it notes Emile DeLeau Jr. as an awardee of the Congressional Medal of Honor in World War II and the Korean War. It also stands as a tribute to the community's men serving their country in the Armed Forces of the United States. The site was donated by D.H. Crymble, and the memorial was erected in 1942 by the people of the Lansing Community.
