Milltown State Park in Montana occupies 635 acres at the confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers near Missoula. Opened in 2018 after the removal of Milltown Dam and cleanup of the former Milltown Reservoir Superfund Site, it transformed a heavily altered river landscape into public open space. The park preserves this prominent river junction while providing hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and scenic overlooks. Its importance rests both in the meeting of two major rivers and in its emergence from environmental restoration into a place for everyday recreation.
